Tiling is almost complete....

Was at the house yesterday and the tiling is almost complete, just the grouting to be done.  In the past week or so they have also done the electrical fit offs,  aircon and heating vents have gone in,  taps, outdoor powerpoints etc.

Painting is Finished, tiling to begin!!!!!!!

Weekly update.
The painters finished on Thursday and the tilers are due to start on Tuesday.  I am going to meet them at the house on Wednesday.  The other half met the SS at the property on thursday and  we are still on track for a late nov/early dec handover..............can't wait!!!!  The stair rail had also been stained and looked awesome apparently.  We chose the colour 'Charcoal" which is a very dark greyish brown from memory.  Will go take a look today or tomorrow and take some piccies.  And will definately post some this time :(

Painting is half way there!

So this weeks update is we have the house painted in first coat inside and a few areas of the facade have been painted also. Front door has had a coat, in the beautiful red colour we chose.  Was a little  nervous about it when we chose it , but I am really happy with how the colours are so far coming together!

EXCITING UPDATE!

We met with our SS yesterday and he told us we will have a handover date in the next few weeks for late November or early Dec.  Can't beleive how fast it is all happening. 

Front render has been done

The facade has been rendered,  however they are yet to finish off some areas with the blueboard.

Plastering finished on the 20/9/2010

Been a bit slack with my updates but have had a lot of progress in the last couple of weeks.  The plaster has been finished.  Kitchen, laundry, ensuites, powder room and stair case has been installed.  All internal  doors, skirting and architraves have also been installed.

Bricking finished....plastering about to start

So they finished bricking the house yesterday.  The cladding still yet to go on though.  We have been told that our plastering will start on Friday, so very excited to see the house take shape and not be just a shell!

Bricking, bricking and more bricking!

Went out to the house on the weekend and took a few piccies..........
Scaffold will be going up this week to finish top section and plastering will start next Tuesday.

Our Lighting..

I think we have decided on our lighting for our entry void and over kitchen island bench, we will also be putting the matching wall light of this in th powder room........

My bargain buys for the new house!

Picked  up this gorgeous bedroom set (in queen tho) from Adairs for my baby boy to go his new white QS bed. Was a clearance line so was almost half price.  Is going to look soooo cute.

Bought this doona cover a few weeks ago for our bed. Was on the display of the new bed I have on layby and I thought it looked great , so I hunted it down. Ended up getting it for half price at Spotlight with a sale and a discount voucher!!!!!!!!  And I LOVE it!

Got  this Electrolux ergorapido 2 in 1 last week. Again,  had been looking at it for a while now as I wanted something I could clean up mess without pulling out the big vaccum cleaner. Came on special at Goddfreys (nearly half price) so I grabbed one. Now looking for a good steam mop, for the new porcelain tiles, any recommendations?????

Forgot to mention..............

They have also put the roof on the garage (is a flat metal roof)
They have installed the front doors and internal garage doors ready for lock up!
Electrical and plumbing rough ins have been done and the plaster has been delivered.

Bricking Starts..............

So they started bricking on Tuesday after a short delay, waiting for the brickies to finish up another job, but we have only a  few on deck while the other crew are still finishing up.  So it has been slow progress,  however, yesterday they were probably 3/4 through the bottom level.

Please note that we are rendering our brick (never been a fan of the RED brick!!)

Roof Tiles Finished!

Visited the house today and the roof tiles were complete and they had installed the heating and cooling and the plumbers had been hard at work inside the house running all the plumbing through.

Frame Complete 23/7/10

I have been away for 2 weeks and when I returned it had gone from slab to this!

Finally after just over 1 Months delay...WE HAVE A SLAB!!

We have some action FINALLY!!

Well they were there today preparing the slab to be laid most probably tomorrow or friday, so very excited to finally get off the ground... Will have some pics friday (i hope)

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well almost four weeks from the original date the slab was supposed to be laid, and we are still waiting! The weather has been ...well typical Melbourne weather... We decide to build and the drought decides to break!!!!!  So very frustrating, but not much we can do but  wait impatiently.....
